KW 0083a Belfast Moffett

£45.00

This kit is of Belfast Moffett cars 292 to 341. These cars were built by Brush in Loughborough. The first cars entered service in December 1920, the rest in the first half of 1921. They were totally enclosed with a narrow front exit tucked under the stairs at each end. They had wooden seating and were mounted on Brush Brill type trucks of 7’ 6” wheelbase. They were the last cars to enter service in the standard red and cream livery with gold lining.
In 1929-1932, they were all modernised. They were fitted with Maley & Taunton 8ft swing link trucks and had brown leather upholstered sprung seats throughout. The front exits were removed and the dash extended to meet the bulkhead. They were repainted in the new blue and cream livery.
They lasted until the end of tramway operation.
The kit contains both types of truck side and can be built with or without the front exit.
The kit includes the etched brass seats for the upper deck.

Truck - ME30D09 for original condition, ME32D09 for rebuilt condition.
