KW 081 Portsmouth enclosed car
This kit is of Portsmouth enclosed cars 105 to 116. Between 5th October and 11th November, 1920, twelve new top covered totally enclosed cars were delivered from English Electric.
They were delivered in sections to Cosham railway station, and then the bodies were taken by lorry to North End depot while trucks were pulled along the track by a works car. The trams were then assembled in the workshop.
They were originally in the Crimson Lake and cream livery, but were repainted in the new scarlet and white livery in 1930.
In 1932 the lower deck longitudinal seats were replaced with 2+1 transverse seats. The last tram service in Portsmouth was 10th November 1936
