This kit is of Portsmouth water cars 102 and 103.
Early in 1919 two new watering cars were designed and built by the Tramways Department. They were fitted with equipment to spray the whole width of the road. Car 103 was fitted with rail grinding equipment.
Initially they used mains water, but at a later date they switched to using sea water to cut down the water tariff.
In winter they could be fitted with snow ploughs.

Truck - Tenshodo 24.5 or Halling 24mm –24mm wheelbase, 10.5 mm wheels or equivalent
