KW 079 Blackpool & Fleetwood Box 40

£35.00

This kit is of the third batch of “Box Cars” that were built by the United Electric Car Company of Preston in 1914.
These cars were numbered 38-41. Box 40 (114) was withdrawn from service in 1936 becoming works car No.5 in 1942. Box 40 was then restored to take part in the 75th anniversary of the Blackpool Corporation Tramway.
In 1982 Box 40 was once again restored and repainted into its original Blackpool & Fleetwood livery before moving to Blackpool to participate in the Centenary celebrations. In 1996 Box 40 once again returned to Blackpool and has now been fitted with doors similar to those fitted on the Manx Electric Railway Winter Saloons and has been repainted.
The original kit was produced by Blackpool In The Box, the rights to the kit have now been bought by KW Trams.
