This kit is of LUT stores van 005. It was initially described as a “flat car”, and later as a “stores van (open)”. In this condition, it consisted of the strengthened underframe of one of the 151-300 batch of cars, mounted on Brill 22E maximum traction bogies and with short platforms.
Later a short box body of timber construction was fitted, allowing spacious open accommodation at both ends. The kit is of this later version.
